The continent of Rhilshen lies on the world of Val, situated between the continents of Brikartha and Braekhal. To the east lies the Eastern Sea and to the west lies the Sea of Turmoil. The Green Sea lies to the north and the Baran Ocean is to the south.
[edit] Terrain type
The continent is almost entirely surrounded by the remnants of an elemental mana-shield cast during the Ritual of Sundering. There is one main mountain range called the Dragonspine and several smaller ranges including the Sydfjells, Spring Mountains, and Dragon’s Wing. The Great Snake River meanders over the continent, with one fork terminating at the Eastern Sea and the other at the Baran Ocean.

The Jahrel Elves were the first to be brought to Rhilshen after it was sundered from Brikartha by Sav during the War of the Ancients. After the War, Brikarthan Elves colonized Rhilshen, with the port city of T'Por being the first colony. As time passed, the various races of Elves dispersed and moved west throughout Rhilshen.
The average citizen of Rhilshen is likely to be of Elven or Human descent, most originating from mingled Brikarthan bloodlines. For instance, the deserts of Sethil have a very strong Jahrel bloodline, and are still subject to god-touched madness and Elemental powers. Within the forests of Shayltan, however, the average citizen is likely to be pure-blooded Lledren, and any other races (including Humans and Trolls) are likely to be slaves.

At the conclusion of the War of the Ancients, the god Sav and the Jahrel conducted the Ritual of Sundering, a massive spell which left the Jahrel god-touched, able to channel pure, elemental mana to the gods of the Original Pantheon who then banished the Ancients. As thousands of ley lines were re-routed during this ritual, Sav severed part of the western Brikarthan landmass and shifted the resulting small continent further west, between the continents of Braekhal and Brikartha. This small continent was surrounded by an elemental mana-shield cast by Astaen, the Sun God, and was named Rhilshen.
Varltesh, one of the few surviving Ancients, was imprisoned on Rhilshen's western coast, penned in by the mana-shield and the Sea of Turmoil. Sav appointed Lojw-dthrendtalen to maintain the mana-shield and guard against Varltesh's escape. However, over time, the mana-shield began to shrink. The area left unprotected by the shield was called the Midnight Land, and the rest of the continent became known as the Morning Realm.

[edit] Government
The Morning Realm is traditionally ruled by the Emperialle, who acts as both the High Priestess of Rhilshen and the sovereign ruler. The current Emperialle is Alysia Skye.
The City of Aeshelm in the Central Province is the seat of power for the realm.
