Kirvathayne

The kirvathayne plant is considered a creation of K'Thayn, and is held sacred throughout Val. The bush only blooms in summer, with flowers starting as tiny orange balls which open into a heavy, fragrant blossom with five orange-to-red petals around a yellow stamen. By fall, the flowers have ripened into bunches of glossy red berries. Kirvathayne fruit is spicy-sweet-sour, something like a cross between a hot pepper and a cherry. The plants will take root in almost any region, but the seeds only germinate in areas scoured by fire.

Kirvathayne branches and boughs are used as decorations during the Festival of Fire celebrated in Rhilshen.
