[edit] Lay of the Land
The Central Provice, also known as Rhilshen Proper, borders almost all other provinces of the Realm. It is the focal point of all government and religion in the realm, traditionally ruled by the High Priestess of Rhilshen.
Studded by dire-oaks and damp, mossy glades, the region lies in a wide valley rimmed by forbidding, craggy mountains, with the the Dragon Wing range to the north, and the Sydfjells to the south. The Great Snake River defines the western and southern borders of the province.
The Bloodfalls, a small river reportedly with the River Styx as its source, is located in the northwestern area of the province. The river's bloody color comes from nearby crimsor deposits. Near the border with Mynw looms Cynderspyre, a volcano formed by a fire elemental over a desecrated alter to Vantas.
Weather in the Central Province is frequently unpredictable due to the nexus of ley lines beneath Rhilshen Fortress. However, afternoon thunderstorms are common in the warmer seasons and snow is a regular sight in winter.
