Aeshelm is the capitol of the Central Province and the center of government and religion in the Realm of Rhilshen.
The city, surrounded by cool, mossy oak glades and olive orchards, stands upon a hill situated near the Eastern Fork of the Great Snake River. Historically, the walled city’s gates were generally left open and unguarded; in recent years, Legionnaires have been assigned to guard the city from unwelcome visitors.
The main avenue into Aeshelm is paved with smooth, uniform stones and the streets are illuminated by mage-light torches. A scent of incense and wood smoke perpetually hangs over the city. Hundreds of temples and shrines to nearly every deity imaginable share the city with businesses, homes, parks, and tiled plazas. At the height of the city’s hill stands Rhilshen Fortress, an immense castle built from dark gray marble that once served as an archaic temple to the Dragon God and now acts as the residence from the High Priestess of Rhilshen, Emperialle Alysia Skye.
While not as large as T’Por in Mynw, Aeshelm has a fairly sizable population of elves and humans.
